Welcome to Little Brook Suris!
The simple beginnings for Little Brook Suris goes back to a "love at first sight" moment for Wendy when seeing her first suri alpaca--a true black herdsire, with soft, lustrous locks, big black eyes, and a serious alpha male attitude! The rest is history...
We are nestled in central Virginia in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Our suri alpaca farm provides a wonderful lifestyle change that allows full family involvement. Our three children are involved in all the activities for handling, breeding, care and maintenance of these fascinating animals.
We invite you to visit, see, touch and learn about suri alpacas. Their fleece is superior to wool and we're producing new cria with luster that rivals silk.
At Little Brook Suris we have chosen to breed American Suri Alpacas. We have genetic lines from Peru, Chile and Bolivia. We have Alpacas who decend from well known South American farms like Accoyo, Alianza, Huaripina and Nunoa. There are a few full-blooded animals on our farm but most are a mix from different countries and farms. Our farm is a melting-pot for Suri genetics. We carefully select and breed by genetic traits and strive to produce superior American Suri Alpacas with each new generation.
Take your time and explore the rest of our site to see why we think alpacas are great livestock to breed and raise.
Our 2011 additions to the farm are:
Stetson - 7/6/11
Winchester - 7/14/11
Shazelle - 9/14/11
Ronada - 9/14/11
Lexington - 9/24/11

This year's couples are:
Roxy and Prince - looking for a true black or silver gray. Prince should help her confirmation.
Sterling and Prince - ditto
Pearl and Linebacker - due this fall. Pearl is our half accoyo maiden.
Spice and Linebacker - due this fall. Watch out Suri breeders. Spice produces our best cria and Linebacker is an outstanding stud. I'm actually hoping for a male cria from this pair.
Mirada and Ruzzel - due this fall. Ruzzel was our first male cria. He still has nice lock structure and very good luster - Mirada needs both.
Shen and Macho Man - due this fall. This should be Macho Man's first cria. We've got a lot invested in this stud so we're really looking forward to this birth. Hurry up!
Ashanti and Ruzzel? - due this fall. What's that question mark for? We had a little gate incident on the farm. I went out one morning and the gate was open from the night before. The gate that separates the Studs from the Dams! No worries - we lucked out. I wanted to breed Ashanti anyway and I was going to use Ruzzel. Wait a minute - Macho Man was in there with Ruzzel. hmmm, I think that would be a good match too. Tune-in this fall to see who's the daddy. The more I think about it the more I think it's Macho Man.
I shouldn't joke. We really were lucky. I had three other open females in there that I wanted to hold over and breed in the spring. It's hard to believe they're not pregnant.
