Nilla, Prada and Mr. Dusky.  Our first 3 cria of the fall.  What is up with Mr. Dusky?  This little guy looks like a Huacaya!  If you raise Suris you will eventually have one of these guys.  We knew Ashanti could deliver one but we were hoping Prince was pure.  Basically this means Prince has some Huacaya in his background.  Most Suris with color probably have Huacaya in their background.  The vast majority of Suris in South America are white.  When Breeders in South America realized Americans wanted colored Suris they started breeding their suris with colored Huacayas.  There were quite a few Suris transported in utero in Huacaya Dams.  If you have a Huacaya - it's pure and can only have Huacayas so it's not really that big a deal.  It is - however - disappointing to wait a year for a Suri cria and end up with a Huacaya.  So now we know if we breed Prince to Ashanti again we have a 25% chance of getting another Huacaya.  Will we breed Ashanti with Prince again?  I don't know yet.  Prince has been throwing patterns and we really wanted a black/white pattern with Ashanti.  The odds are on our side but it's a big decision when you're gambling with a year of Ashanti's life that could be a waste of time.  For now at least he's healthy and happy - he's pretty cute and has nice color to.

Prada is what we were looking for out of Ashanti - except in black and white.  Prada was a great surprise - we didn't know what to expect out of Mirada and Prince.  She is a beautiful little girl.  Prince's latest cria Perseus is also a pattern.  He has a similar pattern to his sister Arizona but he's biege and white.  I didn't even notice it 'til day 3.  He really shines on the sunny days.
