2009 was a good year for our farm. We grew faster than we had originally planned- but that's a good thing. We had four new little girls and we bought "The Silver Suri" herd. Scott Campanella brought these alpacas together to work on a silver gray tuxedo line and we plan to continue what he started.
The silver gray is Fox and the true black is Ash - they are from The Silver Suri herd.
The biege is Ruzzel he was our 1st male cria.
This is Arizona getting a little help from mom on day one. Standing for the first time is a little harder when the ground isn't flat. May 23, 2009.
This is Spice's little girl Sugar. She was born June 13, 2009. She has really nice fleece and looks just like her mother.
Hello Cameo! This little tuxedo girl was born September 21st. She was our first tuxedo pattern born here.
Hey Madina!! This was our last girl of 2009. She was born September 29th. We didn't think she was going to make it. She was a month early and she was only interested in sleeping but she eventually perked up and she's been doing great ever since.
The girls are growing up.
Arizona at 10 months. She is maturing well and she carries a nice Fleece. We bred her mother 'Persephone' back with Prince again. Hoping for another Arizona this Fall.
Check-out Sugar at 9 months. No - I did not doctor this photo. Her luster is blinding in the sunshine. Sugar's Sire Merlin is from Black Meadow Suris.
Cameo at 6 months. She is becoming quite the lady. This picture does not do her justice but you can see how well she's grown.
Madina, Madina, Madina. Look at her at 6 Months. My favorite on the farm. I'm still new at this but I have not seen a Suri cria with so much fleece. I mean from her head to her tows - just check-out her coverage. It makes her look more like a stocky little calf.
Let me rephrase that; 'A stocky little Buffalo calf' Look at her head. She is something else and I can't wait to see how she continues to grow. I will be sure to post more pictures of her in the future. Hope she can retain her fleece coverage and density as she matures.
Madina's Sire is Kona from Black Meadow Suris.
